What do We really want?
Stepping out into the world today, walking out into a place of so many opportunities, so many choices, we define ourselves each and every day, by how we treat each other, and how we respond to all sorts of circumstances. Our point of reference is what we believe, how we were raised, what our goals are, and who we follow. I don't think anyone wants to go to school, work, or out for recreation, with a feeling of frustration and anger. I think most people want happiness and a feeling of being wanted.
I sometimes find myself getting frustrated while driving. I have seen cars cut someone off while driving, and I can't believe it, especially when someone cuts off an 18 wheeler. It's almost if they want to get hit. I have gotten the #1 sign a few times. The last time I got this detailed, personal and unmistaken sign of "love", it was from a man who looked like he was 70 yrs old. I couldn't believe it. Why are so many people frustrated, why do so many of us make ourselves unhappy, by the choices we make and the things we say? People are all searching for happiness everyday, and when we don't find, what we think is happiness, we can lose hope, we then see all our losses, all our inadequacies. Our problems then become some huge giant, that follows us around, stepping on us whenever and wherever. Some people say they have a dark cloud over them. Why do we usually start our days with a smile, and then let others lead us, with their frustrations and issues, causing us to be lowered to their level?
Everyone of every color, every religion, male and female, want happiness, but happiness can't be found in the world. This is why we have so much crime, so much hatred. When people push and shove each other, to get to a sale, when people trash stores, just because they're unhappy with police, or another race of people, and all because happiness and Joy aren't found in earthly things. We must learn where Joy and happiness come from. It's not a mind set, because you can tell yourself every day, "today is going to be a great day," and sometimes at the end of your day, it could've ended horribly. We can't control the things of this world. Jesus is the reason for my happiness and joy. God is the "glue", that keeps a Husband and wife together, God is whom all Righteous things come from. The people are all searching for Jesus, but most of the world doesn't know it. They seek money, and when they get the status and riches they seek, they still feel an emptiness, after the newness of their stuff wears off. I quite often find, that I have taken my eyes off God, when I feel frustrated, defeated, and torn apart by my world. I have stayed in the boat with so many others. I don't want to be anyone, other than who God created me to be. I was not created to be frustrated, full of hate, disgusted, unhappy and lost. I was created to be a Son of God, someone here, to help others find their way to God, so they can develop a relationship with God. We are all here to help each other, but that's hard to see nowadays, since so many people are all about self.
How we react to the world, is how people will label us. Christian means a lot of things to people today. Most of the world doesn't take a Christian serious. I remember seeing people with crosses around their necks, getting hammered with alcohol and drugs, and yes, they would claim to be a Christian. Nothing they did backed up their claim. Christians are under attack, we do make mistakes, and we do get in deep holes, that sometimes seem bottomless. If we claim to be a Christian, we need to be on our best behavior, and we need Jesus to lead the way in our lives. We all have battles, and we always will have some kind of war that'll be on-going. We just need to remember, we are not alone, we are not to be stepped on, we are Sons and Daughters of The Most High! We can't have our Joy without God. God is our Joy! God is our Hope!

Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.
We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
